Recalibration Service
Please Note: In order to ensure a smooth recalibration of you enDAQ sensor we ask that you do not send your unit for re-calibration before purchasing the service online. Thank You.
Each one of our enDAQ sensing devices is supplied individually calibrated from the factory and includes calibration at 10g-peak, 100 Hz using a NIST traceable accelerometer
Because these units are often used to measure harsh shock and vibration, the embedded accelerometer is often subjected to excessive shocks, temperatures, radiation etc. These violent environments can result in a significant change in sensitivities and even permanently damage the unit. Therefore, it is wise to make periodic verification of the sensitivity calibration. This calibration frequency depends on the application, but once every year is generally recommended for accelerometers.
Sending back your unit for recalibration will provide you with the confidence necessary to know that your accelerometer remains accurate. If the sensitivity changed significantly our enDAQ Lab software enables you to edit these coefficients for already recorded data. enDAQ will also update the firmware on the device (if there is an update available) to reflect any improvements or bug fixes.
If your device is not functioning or is otherwise unable to pass calibration, enDAQ will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain your device to the best of our ability. If the device is not able to be repaired, the recalibration charge will still be incurred but the cost can be reimbursed in the form of a credit on the order of a replacement device. You can find more information on what we can and cannot repair here.
What Do I Need to Do?
After you have finished the online payment process, please do the following to complete your order to ensure the fastest turn-around time and accurate re-calibration:
-
Clean Unit:
Important: Please ensure your device’s mounting surface is clean prior to sending them in. The devices must be free of sticky residue or any other materials that could interfere with the mounting surface, and as a result, the recalibration process.
We recommend using the plastic scraper blades you received with your device, an adhesive eraser wheel, or a liquid adhesive remover. Make sure you DON’T USE ACETONE on polycarbonate devices as it will deform the enclosure and could negatively impact your accelerometer readings.
A $100 Cleaning Fee per unit will be incurred for devices that are not adequately cleaned for re-calibration. -

IMPORTANT CHECKLIST:
Please check the following when you send in your enDAQ sensor/s for re-calibration.
Note For International Customers
The customer is responsible for any duties and fees related to importing the devices for calibration. To minimize the cost of import, please fill out the shipping paperwork with the following considerations.
Declare the Reason for Import
Clearly state that the item is being imported for calibration.
Use the Correct Valuation
The item's value should reflect its condition (e.g., used or defective), not its original purchase price. For the purposes of recalibration orders, you can declare the value of the shipment to be the cost of the recalibration service.
Apply the Right HTS Code
The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code determines duty rates, so using the correct one is crucial.
The HTS code for repairs or calibration is 9801.00.85
